I will soon be getting a colony of Pheidole noda (also wrongly called P. nodus) within a week all being well. This specie is from China and Japan, plus other oriental countries too, so Quah may know a bit about them No pics of my own yet naturally, due to me not having the ants; but here is a video and pic taken off a google search of these ants. ant.edb.miyakyo-u.ac.jp/E/Taxo/F40605.htmlAttachments:

I can't wait to see them. I may try collecting Pheidole next year.

I should have had this colony by now, but Dean informs me that due to the collector not declaring some other insects at the customs, they did not arrive. A new ant exporter has been found by Antastic, though this means a delay of 3 weeks. This is a major problem with importing exotic ant species, that if the supplier fails to get them to the seller, then the customer is left in limbo waiting for ants to arrive. All being well, I hope to get the new colony in about 2 weeks from now, so I will eagerly be awaiting the postman to bring them

I believe there is some information in journey to the ants about these species. I haven't read it in a while, so I will look later. Maybe you could have a look in it if you have the book.

wood ant where did you get that species because its not on the ant store or ants kalytta I haven't got them yet, and neither has the supplier, as they are not even in the country When they finally arrive, I will post more info about these ants and where I got them from; and if they don't turn up, I will be really annoyed with their service, as I really should have had them by now

Sadly I will no longer be getting this species due to closure of the site which was selling them I still hope to maybe get these ants in the future, or a similar ant species suitable for keeping in a medium sized plaster nest set up, so I will have to keep my eyes on what ant sellers are still trading
