He or she is beautiful, are those it's colours or are they going to change because I believe they change at a certain age, also how old is it and one last thing, how I wish I could have one of those tanks for my dragons but it looks expensive. Didn't know you could use sand, I was told that if to much is digested with its food, it can cause something that can lead to death. Thanks Josh. It might be it's colours. But I have a strong feeling they are going to change, it has some slight red around it's neck. And the tank was bare, the reptile shop did it, fully decorated which makes it very pleasing to look at. We will be getting some more decorations for it though like rocks etc. And you are right about sand, it can cause impaction in their intestines etc which results in death. But the sand I use is play sand, it's much more fine than normal sand so it's easier to pass through their body.

Now that is one nice dragon. Any idea what you are going to call him or her? Thanks. We are going to get it sexed next month or in the next 2 months. If it's a her, it will be named Lula. If it's a him, well... we are not sure yet

Sorry to hear. Must be hard. Are you 100% completely sure that she has passed away? I've been reading some Books on my Kindle last night that Bearded Dragons can brumate (In other words Hibernate) completely shut-down in a way. Won't eat etc etc. With a little research, I've found that you can get Insurance for them which covers all Vet fees, medication, illnesses etc. It also includes Death Insurance as well. It's like £124 per year or 12.80 Per month. We are sure she is dead because her eyes where sunk right into her head, she was as stiff as a board and Wilson, my other dragon, is still normal and they lived in the same tank. I knew about the insurance but it is expensive and we never got round to getting any. Once again, my condolences. I thought it might be worth an ask. You could always try taking it to a vet for a post-mortem. If they will do so. That way, you will know how she died.

Connecting 2 colonies into the same foraging arena is dicing with death, as even the same species will just go to war with each other. Thought someone might say this sometime Still debating whether or not to do it, seeing as the colonies will be young at the start, they should avoid war. I can always set up 2 out-worlds though seeing the space I'll have.

After my last ants have perished. I've been debating whether to keep another colony. I've decided that I will, but I'm moving house on the 15th September which comes with a large shed and garage in the backyard. There I will keep many of my new colonies. Finally leafcutter ants which I'll contact Andrew further in the future. I get my Bearded Dragon sometime in the following week between Wednesday and Friday, so it's quite untimely with the house move. I will also be investing in another 1 or 2 Tarantulas figured as I've got the hang of things with my Lasidora Parahybana. So stay tuned with my future journals! I'll be setting up large set up's in my garage Maybe thinking of connecting 2 colonies to a large out-world for foraging. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, that's all they seem to do is burrow. I gave mine away, as I got bored with it not being around and interactive enough. I wouldn't keep one again. Aha, Explains why you haven't updated your journal in a while. Maybe you could look at a more active spider? I would recommend mine for a start. And you could maybe get a T that's between a Sub-Adult to Juvenile?

Well. Here we go guys! The first video.
I managed to quickly record the T rebuilding it's burrow after I accidentally trashed it trying to recover the roach. Ignore the fast motion. It seems to be a bug with the firmware..... I think.

Here it is! It's first molt! Looks like its been busy under that flower pot. I had to remove it after fearing for the worse that It might be dead. It's dug a cave like structure further down. I can just about see it and it looks black! Going to give it a roach later.

The plant might have had insecticide on it that killed the ants. The Plant was removed 2-3 months ago. It might of had insecticide, but it's constantly flushed with water nearly everyday.
