No I keep some of those sling in a glass container, the one used for candies. If you get shivers looking at this, you should try to rehouse one of these arboreals, every time is a challenge. They are super fast and in half a second you can have the spider on your arm or climbing on your back, I must admit I am scared of them sometimes . Sounds fun, I've seen videos on YouTube where people flood their tanks with carbon dioxide to slow them down or put them to sleep before they move them. Sometime worth thinking about maybe? I find tarantulas more scary when they web lot. I wouldn't be so bad if they didn't

19/07/2014 - 09:54 All went well last night. It looks like if he/she has wondered around a little last night. I've put in a water bowl in this morning as I've neglected to do yet. Can't let that tarantula get thirsty now She/He is still out in the open not doing much, I might try and attempt to feed it later, but it may be too early yet.

I wonder where the other Fly sling went to? It reminds me of a very old TV commercial for a toothpaste brand, which featured a catchy song with these lyrics. "You'll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent." haha! I can't seem to find it anywhere. However, I'm moving out in August.

Fly escaped last night through the very very tiny ventilation hole I made. I had to move him/her to a larger container.
I've ordered another last night, a juvenile, between 4-7cm.

Nice name, but be careful not to give it any flies that may have been in contact with insecticide sprays. Gotcha! I'll be giving it the first feed on Friday once the micro crickets arrive. They forgot to pack some in the box for me. Fly will have it's feed at least once a day to encourage fast growth and moult. Will have to keep an eye on that abdomen though, don't want it getting bigger than the whole body Surprised on how much you can learn from the net. Can't wait to see what it looks like in a few months

Good name. I wonder what is it with you Welsh folks and spiders? Jen reckons it's because I call her my little Welsh Witch. haha. I've just made a burrow for it using the pot that it was shipped in. I've secured it under the soil and it seems to be happy. Hasn't come out since. Going to try it with a micro cricket on Friday.

My lasiodora parahybana has arrived. Logan my son has decided to call it "Fly" She/He is very active, getting used to the new surroundings. I'll feed the sling tomorrow.

I've removed that feeding tray as you can see above. There must be at least 30+ workers in the tube eating away at the cotton wool. I've never seen these ants this active since I've moved them. They are everywhere in the foraging area. They will won't take any protein though. Looks like they might be fattening the queen up with Sugar maybe.

From what I've researched. The Salmon Pink Birdeater is one of the fastest growing Arachnids. So I'd expect it to hit 7cm within a year of having it. Mine got 5-6 cm legspan in 7 months . Dam, That's pretty good, Can't wait to see these molting. Might get the one that Jenant has got later on in the year. I've already forked out £40 on a heating mat and a thermostat to regulate the temperature in the storage box. Didn't expect these Arachnids to hurt my wallet!

Blow me, the postman arrived at 11.45. He said "Have you got a live one in there?" Whoo I'm glad to get rid of it in case it gets out", he said He also wanted to know why I wanted one! Little does he know he carries ants as well. We have done a small video, so will upload it later. Nice! Looking forward in seeing some Pics/Videos Hope all goes well!

There was a big notice right in front of you above the spiders on every page, I just saw it after ordering as I was too busy looking at spiders I was oblivious to that message "Slaps self in face" Hopefully I can get my refund after opening a dispute with PayPal, But that won't be sorted until they get back from holiday. I'll hopefully get my new spiderling tomorrow from the spider shop. Any signs of delivery yet Jenant?
