Hello,
Just an update. I got some tubing from my local tropical fish shop, it's the exact same stuff that came with the ant kit just in case anyone can't find any try your local tropical fish/ marine shop too :-)

I have been reading about ants using aphids for honey etc and in return protect them. Is it possible to bring some stems in that have aphids on and use them? Or does it not work like that. I googled it but haven't found anything wondered if anyone has tried it? If so how successful was it... Cheers

Yeah I had my eyes on a metal dome sieve with incredibly small holes, but I was quickly shoed away by my queen ant . Yeah didn't think about it, see me becoming a forager in these little cheap shops!

Trying to work out what the splatter mesh guard looks like :/ I'm the main cook in the household (wife gets it easy, just do not tell her that ha ha) but don't think I have anything to suit. For the time being ill use a fine needle until I travel to pound land next. That's for the input everyone

Right I have a tub for a foraging container which has a sealed lid but I was wondering how many air holes does it require to make it comfortable for the ants?and I suppose also escape proof need to be pin prick size? thank you

What tubing do people use for their ants to travel around in when expanding? Is it general aquarium air line tubing or something else? Thank you

And lady of course sorry. Messors seem to be the more popular choice to keep? Are these ants with a readily available queen easy to obtain? I have a nesting area and a net work of tubing which relays into a feeding chamber. So eventually will have plenty of space but have plugs at the minute to close of sections to keep them in a smaller space for a while is that right?

Thanks for the response gentleman, yeah been reading and they do sound a bit wild and difficult. The sting so much doesn't deter me it's the colouration I find attractive. Just going to read the journal now and do a little studying. Thank you. I'm guessing nigers are the more common ant colony to keep?
