Yeah I agree wood ant things are great and getting a lot of activity.
Would certainly look at getting a second ant colony but unsure which avenue to go down.
These lot today are very busy almost dividing the pupae and eggs up into different chambers like redecorating almost quite interesting to watch them. I haven't a clue why maybe to make room or be more organised or maybe there ready to hatch I don't no.. Either way happy days definately looking well.

Yeah well I got plenty of reptiles so locusts and crickets are usually plentiful. I fish too so may get some maggots myself and save some.
Ants are doing really well numbers have tripled since I got them from you dean and there is brood everywhere in there! Queens getting fat so feeding her well she's 3-4 times the size now!

How do ants control the humidity and temperature inside the ant world? Looks a little steamy :/

Yeah they resemble egg cases, I thought daft maybe that they didn't hatch from eggs? Cause from the pupae stage aren't they all there eg not in an egg or are they still in an egg case as such?

How often do you add a new ant world on or making it bigger, is too much space a bad thing? Cheers

Ants are thriving lots of foraging movement. I did notice today several ants carrying what I would call small egg shells so not sure what that is. Only got 10 flys today so slacking slightly I am ha ha. Seems like the ants are really building there home so was looking at maybe adding another ant world and see if they spread out not sure if that's a good idea or not.

Right my friends come over with his micro camera to take photos and we certainly was not disappointed, I am in shock with how big some of the babies are they are huge!! There's a big pile of flies in each baby chamber so I can now see where all the foods going :-) greedy buggers.
Fly count today is 35 half hour running around with me fly catcher really crazy how many I have started storing then ready for the cold months however I do buy a lot of meal worms and crickets for my other animals also my mum buys dead meal worm for the birds so may see if they take them too :-)
Going to be heavy weights ha ha ha
