Aww great stuff cheers wood ant. Yeah I kept the box and used that as a cover for the ant world so fingers crossed. I can see however 1 ant in the tube to the ant world but its dead :/ hoping nothing to bad cause I didn't see if it went up there alive or another ant carried it up there.. But just sat watching them now

I was very surprised to see so many workers so definately great value and they are mostly all out apart from the queen and a few ants moving dirt around. They have found the honey water as well . I have left a light layer in the foragering tank In hope they make there way to the ant world up the pipe next to the entrance to start tunneling . But only time will tell just hope they settle in ok :-)

Does condensation affect the ants at all? Just trying to eliminate all the areas in case it happens.
Only thinking this because once you wet the substrate keeping a steady moisture, surely the ants produce there own heat, could this then cause higher humidity in their home leading to condensation....

I have seen a previous post by wood ant but can not remember where? So sorry I am re-asking: but how often are you suppose to water the ground your ants live on and to what degree is classed as over watered? Thank you

Ha ha ha I have been fortunate to not have been bitten by one of my adults yet. I did get tagged by one of my babies that I bought last year, however at the time it looked more like a big earth worm on steroids so didn't really feel it

Yeah I visit my local reptile shop a lot love looking at the snakes, spiders, lizards, frogs, turtles, crocodiles etc.
I have young children at playschool and a lot of kids and their mums come over to see them and I show them what their like etc. definately believe the more exotic species are underrated in the pet world but I find them the most fascinating. My son loves them and always holds them when I get them all out.
Never touched on the frog area yet they do look well cool. Thanks tho mate :-)

Hello me again Just building my ants new home for there great arrival. I have read about putting a talcum powder solution (talcum powderxwater) around the top of the tub to stop climbing to high (in my case the foraging container) how successful is this and will it harm my ants :/
